SING - CONNECT - BELONG

Press release and information sheet

Older men are invited to find harmony through a new singing project.

A new community singing project is inviting older men to come together, build connections and enjoy the pleasure of singing together in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

Sing. Connect. Belong. is a six-week a cappella program based at the Rosny Library that aims to foster confidence, companionship and creativity through music.

The program offers a relaxed and welcoming opportunity for men who enjoy singing - whether in the shower, in the car, or with others - and it's suited to everyone, including men who may not have sung in a group since their school days. (or ever at all!)

With no auditions, no pressure and no expectations, senior men will learn familiar songs, enjoy good company and receive plenty of individual support in a friendly group setting.

Throughout the six-week program, participants will learn and sing harmonies to much-loved songs including Yesterday, Annie's Song, Sentimental Journey and Hallelujah. The project will conclude with a final workshop performance and light lunch for family and friends.

Sessions will be held at Rosny Library each Friday on September 4, 11, 18 and 25, and October 2 and 9, from 10.00 am to 12.15 pm.

Sing. Connect. Belong. is supported by a Clarence City Council Community Grant, is hosted by the Silvertones Chorus, and led by director Aaron Powell, who is known for his supportive and encouraging approach.

Older men interested in taking part or finding out more can contact Trevor on 0488 967 904 or register your interest at SING. CONNECT. BELONG.
